Sygale Lomas is the Monterey County Brokerage Director for David Lyng Real Estate in Carmel-by-the-Sea, representing buyers and sellers throughout the Monterey Peninsula.
Choosing the right real estate professional is about far more than finding someone to open doors or put a property on the market. It is about choosing someone you can trust to listen, advise, negotiate, problem-solve, and stay fully engaged from the first conversation through closing — and beyond.
That is the level of commitment Sygale brings to every client she represents.
Where she comes from
Five generations of Sygale's family are Texan — her grandparents and parents before her, her children and grandchildren today. She came to California in 1989, to the Monterey Peninsula in 2010, and built a life on this coast without ever leaving the other one behind.
It is a useful thing to understand, because a great many people who buy here are doing the same thing. They are not leaving somewhere. They are adding a place — a second home, a coastal chapter, somewhere the family gathers — while their work and their people stay exactly where they are.
Sygale has lived that arrangement for thirty-five years. She knows what it asks of you, and what makes it worth it.
Background
Long before real estate, Sygale built a career in marketing, media, and publishing — and it is the reason sellers hire her.
In Texas she served as president of marketing for an international oil and gas company with thirteen divisions. After moving to California she became co-owner of a publishing company with nine newspapers, then an executive with Freedom Communications, one of the nation's largest media companies, where she was recognized repeatedly as a top national producer. Arriving on the Monterey Peninsula in 2010, she joined the Monterey Herald as a media consultant and quickly became a top producer for Media News Group.
For a seller, that background is the difference between a property being listed and a property being marketed. Sygale knows how to position a home, identify the right buyer, build the message, and use both traditional and digital channels to put it in front of the people who matter. She has spent a career learning how to make something stand out in a crowded market. She applies the same discipline to a listing.
Leadership
Sygale joined David Lyng Real Estate in 2015, working alongside Sally Lyng and helping oversee the company's marketing. Her leadership and business experience led to her current role overseeing David Lyng's Monterey County offices in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
In that role she has guided hundreds of transactions through negotiation and close — not as the agent of record, but as the person her agents bring their hardest problems to.
For a client, that is an unusual advantage. You get the judgment of someone who has seen how deals go wrong, and knows how to keep yours from doing so.
Community
Sygale's commitment to this community extends well past her work.
That network matters to clients in ways that don't appear on a listing sheet — the trusted contractor, the early word, the quiet introduction.
Her community work has been recognized with Ambassador of the Year in 2020 and Board Member of the Year in 2022 from the Carmel Chamber of Commerce.
Advocacy
The NorCal Center on Deafness recognized Sygale for years of advocacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children and adults — work that took her before thirteen school districts and the California Department of Education, and led her to open part of a company she owned to the organization at no cost so it could keep serving families across three counties when its funding was cut.
The California High School Rodeo Association recognized her for service on its State and District boards, where she chaired the Special Rodeo program — pairing high school rodeo athletes with children with disabilities so they could compete in the arena, earn buckles, and be crowned rodeo queens alongside their partners.
Listen first, understand the goal, create the strategy.
Working together
Sygale understands that a real estate transaction can be one of the largest financial decisions a person makes, and she treats it accordingly. Clients can expect preparation, straight communication, and someone who will anticipate problems, find solutions, and stay beside them the whole way.
With the resources of David Lyng Real Estate behind her and deep roots throughout the Monterey Peninsula, Sygale offers the best of both worlds — a respected local brokerage, and the personal, relationship-driven service of someone who takes it personally.
Because for Sygale, real estate is personal.
